There is so much information out there nowadays on the internet, that researching to choose a physiotherapist and a treatment approach can get quite overwhelming.

Question 1
Do they offer hands on treatment?

Will your appointment involve hands on treatment or will you just be left to do exercises? iPhysio Australia-, we offer a comprehensive hands on treatment that will be tailored to you according to your examination findings and diagnosis. Your treatment may include:

  • Soft or deep tissue techniques
  • Gentle targeted joint mobilization and articulation
  • Acupuncture
  • Gait analysis
  • Posture and core work
  • Manual therapy
  • Exercise rehabilitation

Each individual treatment plan is designed to suit your specific problem and circumstances.

Question 2
Do they have experienced therapists and a reputation for good service?

If you check the practice website and read the therapist’s profile, this should provide a good indication of the level of qualifications they have and any further study they may have done since qualifying.

Also looking at how long ago the clinic was established will give a good indication as to how long some of the therapists have been practicing. Although mature experienced therapists are an essential ingredient in any established practice, do not rule out booking with a younger therapist, as they bring a lot of enthusiasm and a wealth of knowledge regarding new techniques and research.

It is important to confirm that the therapist is registered with their governing body such as the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

Question 3
Will you receive a clear plan at the end of your treatment?

It is important that you receive a crystal clear explanation regarding:

  • What is causing your pain?
  • What it is stopping you doing?
  • What treatment is suitable to address your problem?
  • How long you can expect it to take to feel better?
  • How frequently will you need treatment?

Question 4
Will you receive one to one treatment?

Have you been to a physiotherapist and your treatment has consisted of 10 minutes of a heat pack, 15 minutes on a machine, 5 minutes quick rub down from the physio then a few exercises you could have found on youtube? Or perhaps you saw a chiro and had an assistant massage you for 20 minutes followed by a 5 minute pop in by the chiro to crack your joints and thats it?

We wont treat you like you’re an item on a conveyor belt.

You deserve better and we guarantee 1-on-1 individualised assessment and treatment EVERY session – we won’t leave you strapped to a machine or left with a hot pack while we treat other patients during your time. We dedicate our entire time to YOU.

Question 5
Do they offer other services all under one roof?

Here at iPhysio Australia each treatment session is specifically tailored to you, depending on your history and diagnosis. We provide the following services at the clinic all under one roof, for your convenience.

Each session may include:

  • Physiotherapy
  • Podiatry
  • Exercise Physiology
  • Massage Therapy
  • Clinical Pilates
  • Shockwave Therapy

Question 6
Do they have convenient opening times?

Ask if the practice is open at convenient times.

Does the practice offer before and after work or before and after school appointments?

A good practice needs to offer times that are convenient for people to attend.

We certainly are open extended hours:
Saturday 8am to 2pm which hopefully accommodates most people’s schedule.

Question 7
Do they provide the latest treatment technologies?

Here at iPhysio we are constantly investing in the latest technology to achieve the best possible outcome for our patients.

We now offer Shockwave Therapy. This has biological effects which can help to:

  • Reverse chronic inflammation that is very common in bursitis and tendon injuries
  • Stimulate collagen production, a vital substance in natural tissue repair
  • Dissolution of calcium fibroblasts which are often part of the problem in ongoing tendon injuries and bursitis pain
